Born out of the desire to serve, The Web Academy was founded in 2009 as a 501c3 organization. The Web Academy provides FREE online courses to the community and low cost web development services to non profit organizations and low income businesses. 100% of our online course work is distance learning taught by live instructors in real time. In exchange for offering FREE web classes to our students, we require our students to take on at least 3 web development projects. Working on these real life web projects with real web clients gives our students actual work experience in the web industry.
In 2009 our founder, Eric Hamilton noticed a disturbing trend in the realm of web development. Much of the available web development talent and resources are currently located in eastern Europe and Asia. Meanwhile, in the United States, we have millions of bright and talented people who simply need exposure to new technology. The Web Academy plans to expose technology to the masses.
The Web Academy desires to grow a strong pool of talented people in the following broad areas:
-Web Systems Administration
-Web Project Management
To prepare our students for entry level web development positions.
To give back to the community by providing low cost web development services to the community.
To create the next generation of web entrepreneurs.
The Web Academy admits students of any race, color, national & ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the Web Academy.
