Intro to WebPress and GIMP

Course Description: An introduction to the basics of web development using WordPress and GIMP which is a graphics manipulation application. This course is lead by a live instructor.  The entire Web Academy web site was built with WordPress.  After completing this course, you will have the necessary skills to build a web site like our web site.

Preparation: Our instructor will give weekly assignments and require you to complete them before the start of class.  In addition, you are required to have a real life project of your choosing to serve as your final exam.  Please have your project selected before the start of class.

Length: 4 Weeks
Start Date: Tuesday September 21, 2010
Frequency: Every Tuesday 10PM-11PM EST

Web Services for Non-Profits and Low Income Businesses

The Web Academy is offering special web services to non profit organizations and businesses with annual revenue of less than $50,000.  For those organizations that qualify, we are offering web sites with the follow features:

CMS (Content Management System) which means that we give you the power to update the content on your web site.

A typical web site with these features will start at $2500.  The Web Academy is offering these services for a fraction of the typical cost.  The response has been overwhelming, so we cannot offer these services forever. Your assigned web developer will be a student web developer who will be supervised by our staff of web experts.
